EDUCAÇÃO MASSIVA NA SAÚDE PRISIONAL DO BRASIL:
um olhar além dos muros

O acesso à educação e formação por parte de grupos minoritários, como a população prisional, tem preocupado diferentes organismos internacionais, tal como se pode verificar pelas Regras das prisões europeias, que datam do início deste século. Acompanhando estas preocupações, e em linha com os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável, da Organização das Nações Unidas, o estudo que se apresenta visa mostrar como a educação massiva na saúde prisional do Brasil pode contribuir para melhorar a saúde da população prisional. O trabalho assenta na metodologia de pesquisa-ação de Tripp (2005) e destaca a importância estratégica da educação na saúde prisional para induzir mudanças nos processos de trabalho, podendo ser aplicada no Sistema Único de Saúde do Brasil para promover e melhorar o cuidado com a saúde das pessoas privadas de liberdade. Desenvolveu-se uma Trilha Formativa, disponível no Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem do Sistema Único de Saúde (AVASUS) para formar profissionais da saúde que atuem no sistema prisional, profissionais penais e privados de liberdade. Os resultados revelaram que ser implementado no AVASUS ampliou o acesso à formação, com adesão de estudantes de todo o país e mostrou eficácia ao lidar com a epidemia de sífilis no sistema prisional brasileiro.
